Spread the fun!

We know a lot of you are stuck at home right now because of the coronavirus shutdowns. If you are like us, you’re probably missing your friends and getting a little bored.

We want to spread some fun to the Manhattan community through the Flint Hills Moving Airplane Project.

Building an airplane is our favorite way to use a cardboard box.

You can go on an imaginary adventure to Disneyland, the ocean, a K-State baseball game or Mars without leaving home.

You can even let your dog or cat fly the plane!

STEP 1: Request your airplane supplies

Fill out the form below and we will deliver a package to your door for FREE! (Manhattan, KS addresses only, please. Pick up is available if you don’t live in the Little Apple.)

Your airplane bundle will include:

  • Instructions

  • A Flint Hills Moving Box

  • Coloring Pages

  • Crayons

  • MakeDo Saw, ScruDriver, and Screws (from ieDiscoveries - first 20 households only, please)

You will also need some of your own tape to build the airplane.

STEP 2: Build your airplane

STEP 3: Show off your creation and win prizes!

After you’ve made your airplane, please upload a photo to your Instagram of Facebook page and tag us (@flinthillsmoving) for a chance to win a gift card to a local small business. We will also donate a gift card to a local teacher or medical care provider for each one we give away!

Photo ideas – get creative!!!

  • Making cardboard airplanes with your family

  • Going on airplane adventures in your living room, in your backyard, waving at neighbors from your driveway, on FaceTime with friends, etc.

  • Coloring on the boxes or coloring sheets

  • Building forts with the boxes

Help our community, too!

The giftcard prizes will be purchased from MHK Together and will be matched dollar-for-dollar in food assistance, so that those who have lost wages because of the shutdowns can afford to feed themselves and their families.

Use this form to request your airplane supplies

We plan on making deliveries at least once a week, but might have to change the timing to keep everyone safe. For more information please see “Project Safety” section below.

Your information will only be used in conjunction with the Airplane Project. We will not sell or rent your personal information EVER!

 
 

PROJECT SAFETy

We are excited to give cardboard airplanes to as many people as possible, but safety is our number one priority. We are taking the following steps to minimize risks for everyone who participates.

  1. When you fill out the form to request supplies, let us know where you want your items dropped off (front door, porch, etc.).

  2. You can give us virtual high fives and fist bumps when we drop off your supplies, but please stay 6 feet away so we can maintain appropriate social distancing.

  3. All of the supplies for this project are stored in our secure warehouse. We have restricted access to the warehouse to minimize the risk of contaminating any supplies.

  4. If any of our employees become sick, all deliveries will stop.

  5. This is designed to be a family project. Please make sure it is completed under proper adult supervision.

  6. Please wash your hands after building your airplane.
